Sanctuary

“Within you there is a stillness and a sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself” Hermann Hesse.

I love this quote and it fits so perfectly what I am trying to convey in this painting. I have realised that each of my paintings is an outpouring of what I need at that time, peace, confidence, energy, safety, home. 

Sanctuary calls us to calm, to look deeper, to let the world continue around us and find a sense of peace.
